to those interested in becoming a Zip Code Manager,
I am very pleased that you are considering applying to become a zip code manager.
I would like to share a few thoughts with you that will either convince
you that this opportunity is right for you, or will convince you that it
is not right for you.

chance to make money doing something fun, on your own schedule. Zip Code Managers (ZCM’s) take on a number of roles.
You have the opportunity to run your own “community
newspaper.” You choose what to report on. You decide
how often to update your site. You determine the personality
of your site.
Now
for the fun part…
- Are
you interested in local politics? Would it be fun to
meet with your mayor and ask him/her the questions you
have always
wanted answered?
- Are
you into High School, Junior High, or Grade School
sports? How much fun would it be to interview
a junior high foot ball player after “the
big game”?
- Are
you into scrap booking? Share news of your scrapbooking
club with the community.
- What
ever you are into – you can report
about it on your site.
- Do
you want to help to promote the businesses in your town?
Here is your chance!
A
chance for you to improve your financial life. How
much money you make is up to you and to your community. This
is not a get rich quick scheme.
It
is a chance to not have to worry about the money to pay your
car payment (just sell 6-8 ads per month).
It
is a chance to not have to worry about paying the rent (just
sell 10-15
ads per month).
How
much easier would your life be if you knew that you had already
sold enough ads to pay next months
house payment?
A
chance for you to express yourself! The
local newspaper and radio station cover the high school foot
ball game and are right there to interview the star player… but
High school sports participation is the high point of many
kids high school experience. You have an opportunity to interview
the kid who sits on the bench and encourages the rest of
the team.
Have
you ever written a letter to the editor of your local newspaper
only to find out that it did not seem important to the editor?
Have you ever submitted an article or asked the radio station
to cover an event, only to have your request turned down?
How would it feel you to be the one who makes those decisions?
You have an “open mic” to express yourself!
An
opportunity for you to make a positive impact on your community
that may out live you. Back
to the example of the third string football player who you
took a few minutes to interview… Ten years from now,
he will remember when you interviewed him. Positive impact!
You
do an article about an intersection that needs a stop sign,
and because of you, a stop sign is installed. Positive impact!
A “mom
and pop” candy store is about to go out of business
because nobody is walking through their doors. You do an
article about the unique atmosphere and the great hand made
chocolates that are made with love. Traffic to that little
store increases and you have helped to save a piece of your
towns history and have helped “mom and pop” to
continue in business. Positive impact!
For
these and a thousand other reasons, serving your community
as a ZCM might be just what you are looking for.
